The Foundation operates along two complementary tracks: a Research Centre producing frontier knowledge on China–Africa economic relations, and a Scholarship Programme expanding access to higher education for academically exceptional students.
The intellectual engine of the Foundation — producing and disseminating knowledge across three thematic clusters, each anchored by a working paper series and annual policy briefs.
Bilateral economic relations, infrastructure debt, and the institutional architecture of China–Africa financing.
Industrialization policy and comparative advantage, drawing on New Structural Economics to inform African policy.
Analytical capacity building through visiting scholars, joint publications, and institutional partnerships.
Track 02 — the Foundation's largest commitment: full support for academically exceptional students who could not otherwise afford it.
Every year, the Scholarship Programme identifies students of outstanding academic promise across Development Economics, Public Policy, Law, International Trade and Engineering — and removes the financial barrier standing between them and a degree.
Awards are need-blind to gender, religion, and ethnicity, and every scholar joins a lifelong community: graduates return to mentor the cohort that follows them.
Submit academic records, a need statement, and a short essay on community contribution.
The Scholarship Board scores each application on the weighted criteria above.
Successful scholars receive tuition, accommodation, and a stipend for the full programme.
Graduates return to guide the next cohort, keeping the circle of support unbroken.
